Peony

Nothing says spring like the peony! Peonies are known for their incredible scent, ruffly petals and lush blooms in hues of pinks, whites, reds, yellows, maroons and coral colors. The peony is a long lived perennial plant and is a flower many people grow in their own cutting gardens.

While the peony is a show stopper, they have a very short bloom season and can be tricky to find off season as a cut flower. One of our favorite flowers to design with, the peony has an incredible vase life and are a flower many people can identify by name. Grown from roots, this plant is relatively low maintenance and will give you years of flowers that can be passed down through generations.

This sweet spring perennial is sure to please whomever you choose to give it to!

• blooms are heavy, make sure you build a grid to support them
• they are very fragrant which most people love
• shorter stems mean the water does not have to travel as far so they last longer
• twisting wire around the stem can help support them if you need long stems for design work
