2026 Wedding Trends We're Loving Right Now
As we dive into a new season at Wildly Native Flower Farm, we're noticing a wave of fresh, unexpected trends shaping 2026 weddings—and we are here for it! From playful textures to sustainable floral practices, couples are thinking outside the box, creating celebrations that reflect not only their love stories but also the joy and thoughtfulness they want to share with their guests.
In this episode of The Flower Files, we (Liza Goetz and Lizzy Frey) sit down to chat through the wedding floral trends we're already seeing in full bloom this year.
Unexpected Floral Textures Take the Spotlight
If you’ve been seeing tulips and calla lilies twisted into whimsical, sculptural shapes online—you're not alone. This emerging trend of manipulating stems into curls or ties gives bouquets and installations a fresh, modern edge. It’s something we’re experimenting with here on the farm, especially as we trial new calla varieties with stronger stems and better vase life.
We’re also seeing amaranth continue its reign as the drama queen of floral design—especially in bold, trailing arrangements. Couples are embracing this texture-heavy look to break away from overly structured, traditional forms.
The Power of White—And Knowing What That Means
Pantone may have declared white as the color of the year (we think it was something dreamy like “Dream Cloud”), but for us, white never went out of style. It's classic, clean, and deeply symbolic—from mourning to celebration. Still, not all whites are created equal. Brides today are clearer than ever: they want true white, not cream, not ivory.
This attention to shade and texture is showing up in other ways, too. Brides are asking about yellow flower centers, the exact hue of petals, and the shape of blooms. Education is a big part of our process—many clients may recognize a peony but have never seen a dahlia. And with peony season so short, helping couples explore similar alternatives in-season becomes a creative and rewarding challenge.
Organic Shapes + Sustainable Design
The green-and-white palette is still going strong, especially in coastal weddings, but there's a shift away from formal, round “basketball” bouquets. Instead, we’re seeing a desire for asymmetrical, organic shapes and layered textures that feel like they were gathered straight from the garden.
Sustainability is also top-of-mind. Couples are requesting florals that do more than just dazzle during the ceremony—they want arrangements that can be repurposed throughout the day. Pedestal arrangements are replacing large, fixed arches because they can be moved from the ceremony to the sweetheart table or bar. Centerpieces built in clear compotes can be taken home or reused the next day for brunch. It’s a thoughtful way to make the most of your floral investment.
Weddings Are Becoming More Personal, Playful & Guest-Focused
Another trend we’re loving? Weddings that feel like the couple. From phone message guestbooks and bar windows with surprise hand-service, to petting zoos for kid-friendly fun, couples are prioritizing personality over tradition.
We're seeing more casual, picnic-style receptions and intimate venues that reflect the couple’s story—whether it's a bar where they first met or a venue that ties into their love for the water. Weddings in 2026 aren't just about checking boxes; they’re about connection, creativity, and community.
And yes—reusing flowers continues after the wedding, too. We love donating leftover blooms to local nursing homes, schools, pharmacies, and libraries. There's nothing like seeing someone light up when they receive unexpected flowers.
Remember, there’s no one-size fits all
We’re excited to see how these trends continue to evolve and what new ideas our couples bring to the table. If you’re planning a 2026 wedding, remember: there’s no one-size-fits-all. The best weddings reflect you—your story, your style, your values. And if that includes curly calla lilies, ground arches, or flowers for your pharmacist, we’re here for it.
Until next time, flower friends!
